The Pope says peace so let’s do it.
It is true though that while animals love unconditionally, sometimes they are at war. Morris is at war with the fat squirrels that chuckle at him in a high-pitched taunt. He’s at war with any dog that threatens to steal his favorite stick. He will share the lesser sticks but his favorite one? Absolutely not. He is at war with the tiny dog who appears on our roof at night, barking aggressively (it’s his own reflection in the skylight but he hasn’t quite figured that out yet). The thing is, he calms down because he has a comfortable bed, food, love and a worn out sloth toy he sleeps next to. He’s got what he needs; he’s happy. All people should have what they need.
